I'm playing the Collector's Edition, and around the middle of the Elven lands lies an outpost that bars access to anyone without an official writ or the Mark of Ordained Favour. So, I got the Mark (which was pretty hard since I'm Urgoth) and the Elves let me through. I received and completed a quest from Lord Uriel Dane, I completed the Way of the Tiger quest in Arindale, I mean, I've done nothing but help the Elves, but now the Elven guards at the outpost will not let me pass.
I didn't think the Mark of Ordained Favour would run out, and I can't get a writ from the Elven Council, to my knowledge. It's extremely inconvenient to have to walk alllllll the way around the Lost Lake to get to the other side of the outpost. Is this supposed to happen after you destroy House Fathien? I saw no indication that I should have trouble passing the outpost.
Mark of Ordained Favour / Elven outpost (CE)
Once you've obtained the mark, the elves should always open the gates for you. If they're not, then it's a bug.

Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."
One of many, it seems, and just as inconvenient as most. I love that I had to use a multiplayer exploit just to *get* the Mark of Ordained Favour; I saved my Urgoth on the level immediately underneath the Altar of Peace, quit to main menu, started a multiplayer game with a newly-created Zaur loaded into the Urgoth's game, climbed the ladder, saved the game, created a new multiplayer game with the Urgoth, saved it again, and then just loaded the game as a singleplayer game. Voila, I'm now at the top of the tower, and can get the Mark. However, there's no excuse for having such an easily avoidable flaw, bug, whatever you want to call it due to the shouldspan of one of the races. I about quit playing the game entirely due to this flaw until I came here and saw there were ways around it.
I guess I could always try to go back to the tower and obtain the Mark again; maybe somehow the information that I had already gotten it has been somehow removed from my character. *sigh*. Oh well, thanks for the response.

What I'm wondering, and I'm sure a lot of people won't answer due to the nature of the request, is if there is an editor or savegame hack that will tell this frigging game I have obtained the Mark of Ordained Favour. This is about the last straw; I'm already regretting my 39 dollar investment, but I was giving this game another chance (actually, probably about 50 "other chances" due to how many bugs I've experienced) due to the fact that I'm cheap and I hate knowing I wasted my money on something.
I've downloaded the Editor in the sticky thread on this site, and I don't see an option to add in the Mark. Are there any other editors, or does anyone know a hack that I can use?

If you are playing the Urgoth, you did NOT get the Ordained Favour because the Urgoth cannot get to the top of the tower in Lake Lohr where you had to activate the spirit shrine. And since you asked about an editor in another post, you must be confused about the elven fortress. Maybe you hex edited your position or something but whatever the method, you're really screwed.embrezar wrote:I'm playing the Collector's Edition, and around the middle of the Elven lands lies an outpost that bars access to anyone without an official writ or the Mark of Ordained Favour. Note #2: Ok this is now the THIRD TIME I'VE TRIED TO POST. Good god, what is this site, MySpace? Just let me post my response for crying out freaking loud.
Note: OK I'm seriously pissed right now. I typed out an extremely lengthy response and of course, my frigging session was timed out and I lost 15 minutes of typing. Thank you GameBanshee forums for making me do this all over again, I really appreciate it.
Ok this won't be exactly what I originally wrote, and I might seem a bit angry, and I am, so I apologize. Let me paraphrase:

Sorry George_K, but I disagree. I most definitely did get the Mark of Ordained Favour with my Urgoth. If you had read one of my previous posts in this thread, I actually described the method I used. To quote my original post:
"I love that I had to use a multiplayer exploit just to *get* the Mark of Ordained Favour; I saved my Urgoth on the level immediately underneath the Altar of Peace, quit to main menu, started a multiplayer game with a newly-created Zaur loaded into the Urgoth's game, climbed the ladder, saved the game, created a new multiplayer game with the Urgoth, saved it again, and then just loaded the game as a singleplayer game. Voila, I'm now at the top of the tower, and can get the Mark."
I'm going to break it down into steps, because I'm a terrible writer and my original description is vague and hard to follow:
1) Save the Urgoth's singleplayer game immediately below the level of the Tower that has the Altar of Peace that grants the Mark of Ordained Favour. Quit to main menu.
2) Create a multiplayer LAN game.
3) Load any character OTHER than Urgoth (I used a Zaur and it worked fine), and load the Urgoth's singleplayer game.
4) The Zaur is now at the same place the Urgoth was: one level below the Altar of Peace.
5) Climb the ladder to the upper-most level, and save your game in a new slot. Quit to main menu.
6) Create a multiplayer LAN game.
7) Load your Urgoth into the Zaur's multiplayer game. Your Urgoth is now at the top level of the tower.
8) Save your game (in another slot, if you wish). Quit to main menu.
9) Load the most recently saved game as a singleplayer game. Your singleplayer Urgoth is now at the top of the tower, able to receive the Mark of Ordained Favour.
10) At this point, I jumped up to the Altar, and then onto one of the ramparts. You will be able to jump on top of one of them; keep trying until you find the right one. BUT! Don't make the mistake I did like 3 times... once you get on top of the rampart, you will probably be over a bit of the island, which will of course kill you if you've been mashing the spacebar and jump to the ground below. Just simply walk around until you find where you can safely jump to the water below, and swim back to shore. You can now pass through the Elven Outpost.
Also, if you had noticed, I stated I had completed a quest received from Lord Uriel Dane, who is located inside the Elven Outpost. How could I have completed this quest with my Urgoth had I not received the Mark?
I first noticed my inability to pass the Outpost after I returned the Argalia to whatshisface in Arindale and killed Uther Fathien. I wanted to go back to Fargrove and the sentries at the Elven Outpost would not let me pass. So I walked the incredibly long way around Arindale, around the Lost Lake to the other side of the Outpost. Well, I went back to the Tower, used the same exploit I detailed above, and activated the Altar of Peace something like 15 times. The Spirit did not return. I went back to the Outpost after doing this, and they would still not let me pass. I'm guessing my Mark is gone for good.
So at this point, I'm wanting to "cheat," if that's what it would be called in this situation, to return what this excruciatingly bugged game has stolen from me. I won't get into the diatribe I originally typed about the game randomly killing me by dropping me from the ceiling of the level as I'm walking through the wilderness. I'm just going to copy this text into NotePad in case the Forum has timed my login out yet again (editor's note: which, it did. In fact, I got a "page not found" error, which then lead to my login being timed out.).
Lateron.

embrezar,
from what i have read in these forums and on this site pertaining access to the elven outpost; all it yields is a heraldry bonus and some treasure chests.
i played a urgoth completely through without access to the elven outpost.
with the loose code of this game, it is simplistic in the end.
obtain cataclysm; sell to vender, purchase, repeat. end of story. (i had 100 each of cataclysm/blast nova/fire nova/ice nova)
obtaining perfect status in your character only to be left with nothing in the end is pointless, imho.
after the final fight you get the end of the game. period. kinda disappointing 39 bucks.
