Totally unique installation problem, begging for help!!
I insert disk and the program autoruns and prepares the setup, when progress bar is full and setup is starting the program just crashes to the desktop. My pc more than meets the minimum requirements to run it and installs fine on my friends far inferior laptop. There must be something basic i am doing wrong, can anyone help please?
No idea yet, might be a problem with the DirectX Installer, cause that one should usually start it's installation after the main software is done. Have you taken a look at the ElderScrolls website and their tech support FAQ ?

Well for starters if it's an installer problem try deleting and reinstalling the InstallShield Common Files - [url="http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322"]linky[/url]. You need version 11, that's right at the bottom, that's what Obl uses.
Also for some bizzare reason programs like Nero, Roxio or other dvd/cd-copying software can mess up the install shield so if you have these, uninstall and try again. You can always reinstall them alter on.
