Ok i know how in kotor 1 Bastila has battle meditation and its supposed to be very strong. How come they put it into kotor 2 as a power u could get? like isnt it suposed to be some great rare power

Errrr.... I remember someone saying at some point that battle meditation wasn't really a rare power in itself, but that it was just hard to learn and as such, not allot of Jedi or Sith knew how to do it. It makes sense that way, because if it were hard to learn, that would explain why Revan n' crew can't learn it, while the Exile and his/her team can (since characters in KOTOR2 can be 2+1/2X stronger than those in KOTOR1). Another solution is that maybe Bastilla is just way better at it than everyone else. It doesn't really matter in the end, because battle meditation was just thrown into the mix in number2 (like all the other new powers) because all of the old force powers would have gotten boring by then. I mean, what's the point of a sequel if it doesn't add some new features?

I felt the same way as you about some of the new powers introduced in KOTOR 2 like the force bubble (I can't remember the right name so please correct me) that protects you from harmful environments. While Force Enlightenment and Force Crush are quite useful and good, I kind of agree that some of the new powers are just thrown into the game in order to add more variety to the current list of force powers from KOTOR 1. And about Bastilla's Battle Meditation, I think its more of a gift. Some people are gifted in certain powers and some aren't. The battle meditation for the Exile and his crew seem to have been a downgraded version of Bastilla's Battle Meditation. Don't know why Obsidian introduced it into KOTOR 2 as I don't find it that useful compared to the regular ones like Force Speed and a few others.

I would logical agree with this, that when viewing in the KOTOR2 context, then the special thing about Bastilas Battle Meditation is the power of it.bigredpanda wrote:Well, in defence of KOTOR2... the battle meditation power works for, at most, 3 people (i.e. your party) in a fight. In KOTOR1 "eyes" few others could learn Battle Meditation so there it was both the power and the uniquene aspect.
But overall, I do not see much of a conflict of it.
However, in KOTOR2 "your" battle meditation can affect more then 3 people. There is one incident (withouth spoiling) on Onderon(sp?) where you can choose to use Battle Meditation to effect the outcome of a battle.

I believe in KOTOR1 they said she was real good at battle meditition, to the point that she could effect the outcome of entire battles. I do not believe they said it was a power that could not be wielded by other jedi, just she was the best at it. & that's what made getting her back so important.

Battle Meditation uses the force to make all allies work in unison and as a finely tuned team, thus destroying the enemy in the quickest and most efficient way possible. At rare levels, such as in Bastila's case, it can be used to influence entire armies and demoralise the enemy army. It increases the Attack Roll (ie. makes it a bit more likely that you'll hit the enemy), adds a damage bonus, adds a bonus to your will saves (makes it more likely they'll succeed), and increses the rate at which Health is regrown, for everyone in your party, for 20 seconds.
Higher versions reduce the attack roll, damage and will saves of your enemies (when they fail a Will Save) and gives a temporary boost to your number of Hit Points.
