No, there are certain books that give skill increases, and all of those "Certain" books will happen immediately, the other books are there for enjoyment.

Most of us collect them and make our own library in one of the houses, and then read them at our own leasure. The skills are a bonus in a way IMO, not the point of books that enrich the world.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Please show some patience when asking questions, and do not expect (meaningfull) replies within 30 minutes after which there is no need to bump the thread.

Sell 'em.

If a book is going to boost a skill it does so as soon as you open it. It's a one-off boost from that title (no other book of the same title will give the boost), and no book that doesn't deliver an instant boost will ever do so.
Always open books. You don't need to actually read them unless you want to. Some are interesting, some not, very few boost a skill.

Mostly books will only bring in between 1-10 gold. But some books are valued at 25/35\+ gold and are worth around half that when you sell. They can be handy for Thieves Guild members trying to build up the amount Fenced, because stolen silverware only brings in 2/3 gold per item.

just like the person said before me sell them. books can be a good source of money. i personally collect 1 of each book and display them around my home. once i get two of it i sell it.
