Does constitution work like in BG for thieves and mages? Like, you wont get more than two extra HPs, even if your constitution is higher than sixteen.
Disarm Traps and Pickpocket are "maxed" at 115% (you can't add more "skillpoints" to them which you gain from level-ups). At how many percent are Stealth and Lockpick capped?
How do you point out that you already are a member of the Chaosmen for Barking Wielder (2000exp)? I tried this last time but couldn't get the dialog for this. Must this perhaps be done, before you ask him about your journals?
Some Questions
1. No. In PST you get the full con bonus at each level up of the highest level class, so a level 50 mage gets 250 HP bonus for 19 con for example.
2. I think the thieving skills are maxed out at 100 + dex bonus for this skills. So my low dex character's stealth was capped at 90.
If you gain bonus skillpoints after reaching the cap (by learning from Annah for example) you can keep them. But 100 is already perfect for most skills.
3. Don't know.

Okey, thanks for clearing me up, especially about that thief skills part. Heh, I had no idea that your dexterity played a factor for at which value your thief skills would get capped. I had a DEX of 18 last time I played and like I wrote before, was able to boost my Pickpocket and Disarm Traps skill to 115. However, I also able to boost my Sneak and Lockpick skills above that point, which is why I asked.
Two more questions sneaked into my mind, these might just be more farfetched. ^^
1) In my last game, I never played that long to encounter Vhailor. I've been reading a bit about this character and understood that he has a quite good STR upgrade for the Nameless One. 3 points of strength! However, you need to be strictly lawful in order to get that upgrade. That's exactly my problem. In my new game, the NO just turned chaotic. Although, it's still very early in the game and I don't actually believe that I've wasted any chances were I could have acted lawful. I believe taunting skeletons, mentioning the name Adahn to Dustmen, lying to Sev'tai, signing more than one Dustmen contract, howling at Chaosmen and threatening Damsel (a hole bunch of thingies^^) is what have made the NO shift toward the chaotic alignment. So finally, I'm wondering if I from this point on only choose lawful options, will I then still be able to get the strength upgrade? I know this is a very farfetched and hard question to answer but it would really help me to know if I'm still able to get that upgrade. And like I wrote I haven't used any lawful options if that should help you out.
2) Okey, this one may also be somewhat hard to answer, but what is the max level the NO is able achieve while having a full party, being a thief and not taking advantage of experience exploits?
3) Are there any items (rings, rods and the like) which allow you to evoke the spells Friends, Strength and/or Greater Strength?

1) According to Dan Simpson's walkthrough you get +3 strength and +3 damage if you are ultra lawful, but you still get both +2 or +1 if you are less lawful. My character was lawful and got the +2 bonus, so I think you won't get more than +2 even if you try your best.
The strength bonus isn't as as important as the damage bonus, you can raise strength by levelling.
You will also find two talismans who can increase con by 1 permanently which are only useable by LG characters.
But you don't need those lawful bonusses and playing a lawful thief isn't very realistic.
2) depends on many things, like wisdom, equipped tattoos and which parts of the game you discover. But you'll surely be able to max out thieving skills, max backstab multiplier, thac0 and saving throws.
I enjoyed dismissing my party members temporary and soloing in Undersigil or the Modron Cube for fast extra XP.
3) It took me a long time to find an item which casts friends when spent. Most of the game will be over then. I just switched to mage, cast friends and switched back.
Strength can be cast by any mage, so I wouldn't bother.
I wouldn't bother thinking too much about what you have to do in order to gain any possible bonus, just play as you like. You'll be able to succeed even without having to fight respawning monsters.
Fighting respawning monsters isn't really engine exploiting (some areas are just created for this) , but playing out of character and leeching for every bonus (like you seem to want your game to be) really is against the spirit of the game.
Next time you are tempted to make an idiotic decision just because you exspect a little bonus tell yourself: "I can reach 25 in any stat and as many XP I want easily by fighting respawning monsters."

Well, in my last game Vhailor's upgrade would've been handy however, as I hadn't put any points into STR or CON once I arrived at the Clerk's Ward. Instead, most of my points went into WIS...and unfortunately two them into INT (didn't know about Cranium Rat Charms back thenkmonster wrote:1) The strength bonus isn't as as important as the damage bonus, you can raise strength by levelling.

I know that I could just easily switch class in order to cast Friends (hence, I rather used the bug which allowed you to cast spells while being a thief) but there was a particular reason for why I asked for such an item. I read in Simpsons' guide that a CHA of 24 is required for one of the endings (yeah couldn't resist trying to spoil them for myself :angelkmonster wrote: It took me a long time to find an item which casts friends when spent. Well, getting, or better doing everything the game has to offer has always been my philosophy. I understand the logic in your point, I've told myself many times but for some reason I can't "pay of" myself with it. It's embarrassing but sometimes I even loose the will to keep on playing for having missed out on something minor...I suppose everyone got their small quirks^^.kmonster wrote:Next time you are tempted to make an idiotic decision just because you exspect a little bonus tell yourself: "I can reach 25 in any stat and as many XP I want easily by fighting respawning monsters."
Well, thanks again for taking your time answering my questions. Like I said I hope that do better this time.
