Australian version = US or UK patch??

Post by makhno »

My most humble apologies as I'm afraid this question probably is rather stupid.
I only just purchased a copy of this excellent game that is KOTOR2.
I would like to install the patch. I am in Australia.
Am I supposed to use the US or the UK version of the patch.
To be honest, I haven't found any help about this anywhere.

Thank you kindly for answering my simple question and sorry for making a whole new thread just for it.

:)

That is actually a very good question.

Pesonally - I'd try with the US version first, and see if that would install - or perhaps e-mail/contact the distributer/store where you bought the game and ask if they know, or perhaps go straight to Obsidian Ent.

Thanks for your reply!
I haven't tried either yet as I don't like installing patch when I'm not sure it's the right one.
I tried contacting LucasArts but didn't get anywhere.
I would have thought the UK version may be a better guess, only because we don't use American English in Australia.

Going deep into my US game folder I found some file that may help.

Game Folder/launcher/launcher.notepad file (whatever the 3 letter abbrevation is)

My US game says (below [general] and [messages]

[Version]
x=8
y=8

Not sure if this means it's US, but check to see if your file says different. If anyone with a UK version can verify that would be great.

Thanks for that!
I'm not sure what it means though. Anyway, mine also says [Version]
x=8
y=8
