:mischief: The color of night is Black, as the color of Oblivion is red. All live with the fact that Mehrunes Dagon rules, Ye who Closes Shut the Jaws of Oblivion will see the mouth of Oblivion closer than thou can imagine:mischief:

The PC I play on is a laptop, 3Ghz CPU, 1G RAM, 2x80 RAID-2 HD, and Oblivion runs just fine. One really weird thing is that it slows down just a hair when there are a lot of non-combatant creatures like sheep or deer nearby, but not when it's a similar number of purely hostile creatures (or maybe it's just my imagination).
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

For the majority of Laptops, it's too demanding

At least two, and often more, of the basic design requirements laptops are all about are in serious conflict with the demands of 3D game playing platform use. To start out, battery life is supposed to be high, but 3D gaming video processors draw way too much juice for that.

Laptops are supposed to be easily portable, thin, and light in weight. But the amount of current that a 3D gaming video processor demands doesn't match to the thinnest and lightest of laptop batteries. You end up with a large, thick, heavy PC that looks like a laptop and has short battery life. There are a very few such laptops available for purchase, at much higher cost than for ordinary laptops.

I hope that helps you avoid a disappointment.
