Hello.
I have once again tried to host a direct IP game so that I could play with my friend. Yet once again, problems have occured: I have aquired my IP adress (command, and then ipconfig), made an exception for port 2606 in Windows Firewall (dlords was already an exception so had no need to add it). Then I entered DungeonLords, chose multiplayer and then direct IP. My character name was already filled when I entered the menu, and hen I clicked the 'My IP' button the game name automatically appeared. I have entered my IP adress and clicked on 'Host Game'. Then, the IP adress I entered disappeared and nothing happend... I did not enter the cd-key, is there a need to do that? I saw indications for the cd-key only when you would use gamespies servers and there was no window for that in the direct IP-connection.
And when I tried to ask for my IP it said there was no connection...
Could anyone please help me with this problem?
Oh, and in case it's importiant: I have version 1.4
IP connection

Either noone told me, either noone knows...
I have some new information regarding the problem:
Whenever I click on that 'My IP' button is sais that I should check my internet connection.
I have entered my cd-key in the gamebanshee connect option and tried to connect, it didn't work (no acces to Lobby), I couldn't fill in the password thing though as I don't know what it is...
I searched for my IP (through that command, ipconfig thing) but DungeonLords said that that IP is only useful for LAN based connections, wich I don't require as a lack of a LAN player. So how do i get my "Real" IP, as that 'my Ip' button doesn't work. So whenever I host I actually automatically use my LAN IP, even if I do this through that Direct IP option.
So could anyone please explain how you can actually play multiplayer or explain me how to get rid of these problems...
I believe that out of the 31 people who have read this SOMEONE must know the anwser. I have seen many multiplayer threads on this forum and they have all been anwsered, so I hope that mine shall not be ignored as it has been so far...
To the Super modertator fable: Thank you very much!

Well, to get your real IP, my favourite way has been to use WhatIsMyIP.com - 130.94.69.241. I was going to suggest that you were using lan ip, but it seemed it beat me to it.
If you still have problems, I'll go a bit more indepth.
- Also, I've never played Dungeon Lords, but it strikes me as odd you need to enter an IP to host. Perhaps I misread your post, but if you are hosting, you should just press the host button. Meanwhile, your friend who is joining will have to type in your IP, it'll find it, then join.

In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

Thanks alot!
Thank you very much dj Venom.
I will try this as soon as I can, probably tomorrow when I could test this out with my friend, that link you gave me is extremely handy and I now know the REAL IP I should use, instead of the one given me by other sources.
Thanks alot...
EDIT: I tried to contact my friend yesterday (15/08/2006) but couldn't... No doubt he forgot, heh, but as soon as I get some information from the test I'll surly post here.
