Ok i am in the beginning of the game and am working on the fighters guild. When you have to (spoiler?) go to the shulk egg mines and kill the two guys i am getting pwned. I think they are the guys in the queens lair. If thwey are not please tell me and also can you tell me a place to level up?

Yes, those persons in the queen lair are the ones. Good rule is that if they attack you, they are the ones you are looking for.

Also, you don't level by going to some specific level, but growing up you primary and secondary skills. When you have grown 10 points of any skills in the primary or secondary skill lists (you can train same skill several times), you get the message to rest. Do so (waiting doesn't doing anything, you need actually rest) and then you get option to put points to your abilities.

Also, just for the future, please use word SPOILER in the title of thread if there is chance that your post or responses may contain spoilers to someone (like in this case about the quest) :)

Ok thanks but are you telling me to have a person (or trainer) help me with my skills and not fight enemies for hands on practice?

In my opinion, it all depends on what weapon you are using. if it is steel or better, you should get the xp yourself. If not, you should find a trainer.

You can practice skills by using them, ie weapon skills by hitting creatures, armour skills by taking hits and so on... You can of course train skills from persons, this is faster but also very costy (one level easily takes over 3000 in money...) and it's hard to find trainers who can train your skills when the skill has got past certain level...
You can see the progress of the skills from inventory menu and moving the cursor over the skill. Same goes to the level progress, by moving the cursor over the level shown in your character sheet.

No, you are wrong. It doesn't depend on what weapon you are using (silver, wooden, ebony...). Of course, better weapons helps you to hit more often, and thus you gain levels faster...

Actually, 1) Better weapon = more damage, which 2) means you level SLOWER due to needing less hits...

Try improving skills/weapons.

Or use sneak and marksman...
