Mages Guild refuses to trade with me anymore?

I have been using the Skingrad Mages Guild to buys spells from and recharge some of my items when I can't find a soul gem or a Varla stone. But I walked in there today and none of them will trade with me at all! the conversations are the same, the same mages are there, but the Trade and Learn Spell and Recharge buttons are all gone from the dialogue box. I tried joining the Guild, which I had not done yet, but even then, no one will trade, recharge, or teach me a spell. I don't know what I've done! I did kill two conjurors who attacked me earlier, but it was pure self defense. Anybody else run into something like this?

Maybe it's just the wrong time. Mostly they do not sell outside 'office hours'.
