Urgent Help!!

Post by Rowan »

I installed Oblivion a couple of weeks ago and ive been playing it fine and its been running fine no problems. But last night I installed The Chronicles Of Riddick Game and it also asked me to install .NET Framework thing and also an ATI download thing for my GFX card so I did, and the Riddick game worked. But then I tryed Oblivion and its been running extremely slow. Its in the game and movement is jurking, and when I click the mouse to hit sometimes it takes a second or 2 to attack.

Why has it all of a sudden started running slow? Is it because I installed thoses other stuff? Please tell me it in the "Dummies" way as im new to sorting game bug things.

Also my comp specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1024mb Memory RAM
120gb Harddrive
256mb ATI Radeon 9600 Series
Sony DVD-RW Drive

Thanks and please get back to me soon as I really want to play the game again.

What may have happened is that you overwrote your ATI graphics drivers with an older version that came with the other game and which is not optimized for oblivion.

Go here: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/def ... olderID=27 and download the latest catalyst drivers (6.7) and install. If your game is still messed up, you may need to clean out the drivers completely and install onto a clean slate. If you need help with that post back in the technical help section.
