not able to enchant *possible spoiler*

i am trying to enchant my light armor with chameleon. I have plenty of full grand soul gems and I have shroudwalk and chameleon and everthing else i need for the option to enchant it. it works with the other enchantments i have made (weaken frost resistance, snowball) but won't work this time.
does anyone know what to do?

When you write that you can't enchant the armor, what message are you getting, or what is happening? Does the chameleon spell not show up? Does the armor lack enough enchantment points? Do you get a dialog box message saying you can't enchant, or enchant this? Give us a hint.

sorry. the option doesn't show. I checked with a friend who has 100% chameleon with his combined armor and he says i'm doing everything right. could it be my level. (i'm lv. 18)

So, the option to enchant it with chameleon doesn't show? Nevermind your character level, what's your skill level in the magicka school associated with chameleon? If it's too low, you won't be able to cast the spell, or enchant with it, even if you've learned the spell.

chameleon i believe falls under illusion and my illusion is 41. is that too low?

iirc, the lowest chameleon spell available is at 25, but it is NOT a standard spell. The lowest normal chameleon requires 50.

Anything you want to enchant something with, you have to be a high enough level in that school of magic to be able to cast the actual spell. That's why you have to be at 50 to use chameleon to enchant with as qizatch said. The lower spells are too weak to be useful in enchanting.

ok thanks. My character is only good at marksman, sneak, and the other typical assasin stats.
