I just ran into my first 2 Spier Daedra and had the worst fight of my life (and last...) The worst thing they do is conjure some nasty little buggers that paralyze me and they're hard to spot.
So, I thought Damage Magicka or Intelligence would be nice in the first phase of the battle. However, once back at the Arcane University I realize I can't create Damage Magicka or Attribute spells.
The lowest level damage Magicka I have is Sever Magicka (dmg 30 points on target) and I can't find any lower spell than that. Also, I don't have one single damage attribute spell at all.
Have I missed a destruction merchant somewhere or are you just not supposed to create your own damage magicka/attribute spells?
Otherwise, any good tactics for dealing with these spiders? Resist Magicka enchants sounds like an option, but as a High Elf I start out with a weakness meaning it may not be possible to get high enough to start resisting paralysis allthough reducing shock damage would help some. Also, I don't have a whole lot of Grand Soul Gems and don't really feel like wasting them on Elven/Mithril Armor as I suspect I'll get better stuff along the road.
most thankful for help

High Elves are tricky to play, but are excellent Mages all the same.
Some spells will only enchant weapons, some only things you wear. And some don't work on anything - and the best spell for your purpose, Spell Absorption, is one that doesn't work on anything so far as I've been able to discover. Neither does Resist Magic. I was a High Elf, too, once, and I spent ages looking for something useful... *sigh*
Absorb Magica can be used to enchant a Weapon, though, which is handy, but not really what you need.
You can enchant items to Resist Fire, Resist Frost, Resist Shock, and Fortify Willpower. All are helpful.
You will also be given a VERY useful Amulet by the Mage Guild as you go through their Quests. You'll be glad you got it!
Spider Daedra a nasty, mainly because of the little paralysing spiders they conjure. But the paralysis doesn't last long. Keep at a distance from the big spider daedra, have your best Destruction spell at the ready - or an enchanted bow/arrows. Shoot the spider before it sees you, if you can, then watch for the little one darting towards you and take it out. You will see her cast the spell, so you should be ready for it.
They ARE difficult to see in the dark. You should have Nighteye or Light spell or enchanted item. It is also handy to have an item enchanted with Detect life, so you can see 'em before they see you!
