Kernel Debugger, I need to get rid of it.

Post by Siberys »

Somehow, I can't use any of my useful programs anymore, and the source of this problem is the Kernel Debugger.

I need to know how to deactivate this thing, if it's possible.

Specs-

Windows XP SP2 Professional x86

Dunno what all that means, but if you need anything else, lemme know.

Are you getting any particular errors, as in do you have the text for it if so?
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

First and foremost, don't consider me a pirate due to this program I use.

But I needed to use daemon tools to reinstall my copy of oblivion (I had an issue with the oblivion CD that I have, so I turned it into an ISO file.) Now, daemon will not run at all.

It said basically that I needed either windows 2000 and above with sptd X.XX installed OR Kernel Debugging disabled. I know I have sptd, but kernel debugging I think I enabled by accident.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about it, I have it myself cause it eases some of my work, it doesn't have to be connected to piracy, it can be very useful. And I actually have heard of this problem, though there doesn't seem to be a solution I can find that would work for everyone.

Are you getting this:

Initilialization Error
This program requires at least Windows 2000 with SPTD 1.21 or higher.
Kernel debugger must be deactivated

If so I know this worked for some people:

Uninstall Daemon 4.0 if you can if not its ok
Right click on my computer and select properties
click the Advanced tab
Under start up and recovery select settings
Under write debugging information set it to none
Hit all the oks and applys on the way out
You can try and run the program if installed but i suggest reinstalling!

And it was expanded to this:

1. Disabled debugger logging, as per Enviro's instructions
2. Opened the DT4 installer
3. With the installer open, copied SPTDinst.exe from the temp
4. Ran SPTDinst.exe from the command line with the /add switch (it refused to work any other way)
5. Rebooted, reinstalled DT4

Heh, don't thank me yet, let's see if it will work. If not I'll look around. *crosses fingers*

I think I just found the problem. I edited the boot configuration thing and looked at what it said.

It said something like yaddayadda(0)Micro soft professional yadda yadda.

I think that the space between micro and soft shouldn't be there should it?
