What Have I Done to Offend?

Post by Dyre Straits »

I have no Bounty on me at present. However, when I approach the altar of Mara I'm commanded to Repent of my Crimes.

How can I discover what I've done to be treated like this? AND, is there a remedy?

It's like that because your infamousy outweighs your fame. Check the chart that has the bounty and look underneath the bounty, it will show what I'm talking about. You'll need to raise your fame above your infamy in order to be blessed by any of the Nine

Ahhhh....OK. I was wondering about that. I did notice it was that way, but wasn't sure if that was the issue or not. Hadn't come up before.

Thanks!

It's hard to be evil.

By the way, the quickest way to up your fame, if you haven't already, is by completing the Main Quest and Guild Lines.
I know everything about Morrowind.

Everything.

So far, I've completed the Mages and Thieves Guild quests. Still have a lot to do with the Fighters, though. And, there's that Knights of the White Stallion that I got into not long ago.

I'm sort of hanging back on the Blades/Main Quests on purpose. A few people I've talked to who have completed the main quest have mentioned that, once they did that, they kind of lost interest in the rest of the game. I don't want that mindset to befall me. I'm enjoying it much too much to allow myself to do something that might cause me to lose interest.

I know that, with Morrowind, once I took care of Dagoth Ur, it didn't seem to much matter anymore whether I played or not. Thankfully, there was Tribunal and Bloodmoon to work on/play with. :)

OH, BTW, I'm nearing the completion of the Dark Brotherhood, too. Probably explains my crimes-rating. :)

Yeah. That'll do it. You can get fame by doing certain sidequests, too.

Corruption and Conscience in Cheydinhal can give you a good boost since everyone in the town knows you for it.

Through a Nightmare, Darkly in Bravil can up your disposition in the Mage's Guild and give you a couple of fame points.

As for losing interest after beating the main quest, I couldn't disagree more. I still play.

And I beat the main quest nine characters ago.

I really, really hope I don't lose interest after completing the main quest.

I just did my famous score a little good, though, by closing the gate at Cheyindehl. A couple more points and I should be back on the 'good' side. :)
