I'm doing Dux (onderan Moon) now & got my first lightsaber made before going to Onderan itself. Did Naa Shadarr (sp?) before in another save & it helps to get the extra person in the group, but a lot to do there before you get a saber. Dantooine is also a good "frist stop" but again, alot to do.

PS.. I too save the Sith Planet for last Korraban (sp?)

The plus point to doing Dantooine first is that the quicker you get 'your' crystal, the more powerful it becomes as it becomes more powerful every few levels if you speak to Kreia (I think its every 4 levels). The downside is it can take a while to get your saber unless you know where everything is, then you can get it before doing pretty much all the quests on Dantooine - I've had my saber within 15 mins of arriving on the planet before, but it does involve just going straight to where the pieces are. If you do the planet properly (which you will as its your first run through) then it will take a while to get it though as you will come across the various pieces while doing the quests. Naa Shaddaa takes the longest to get a saber though (in my opinion). I've never done Dxun/Onderon first so I can't comment on how quickly you get the saber there.

Walterd140, looks like you're not the only one who went to Dxun first. I also went there after Telos too.
Didn't go to Dantooine as I thought it will be pretty hard over there. Anyway, woozy, the point is that whichever planet you go to, there will be lightsaber parts strewn around but with the help of the walkthrough, you'll be able to find all of them.

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
I usually go to Dantooine first so you can get the crystals out of the crystal cave there. I've also been to Nar Shaddaa first before too. Its largely up to you, you can pretty much do any planet first. I'd leave Korriban til later though.
dantooine is my fave starting point, nar shada is possible but i think it's easier once you get the chance the upgrade gear and level a bit & develop your npcs.

Guys, come on. If you're going to include spoilers, put SPOILER in your posts, or use black for that part--or I'll start pulling posts. I've already gotten one complaint about this thread, and it hasn't been up here very long.
EDIT: I've pulled a pair of posts at the end that I hadn't seen before. Sheesh.

In many ways Nar Shadaa is the best planet to do first because (SPOILER, highlight here)
There is a lot of INF, the greatest amount of LS and DS points of the whole game, and three companions to get. If you don't get these companions as first planet, there are not enough INF chances to get the maximum benefits from these characters; this is especially true if you are DS, and wamt to 'break' Hanharr for the +2 STR, +2 CON for your character, plus the +1 WIS you get from HK; both of these characters only respond positively to to DS stuff
It's perfectly possible to manage without 'your' crystal, but if you do want it, go to Dantooine first, but DON'T enter Koonda. Why? Items are set when you first enter an area and you don't want to set them as level 12 when you could set them as level 20 do you? Just go straight to the caves; if you want max XP kill everything on that level, as they will be worth c. 200 XP now and only 25 XP if you come back later...
The moderation policy on this board seems to have become more anti-spoiler in the last week or two (this thread's level of spoilers has often been left alone before); would it be possible for the Mods to annotate the 'read this first' to make the new 'unoffical rules' clearer to us oldtimers who are used to a more relaxed interpretation of acceptable spoilers?

If you have a problem with the rules or the way they're enforced, Alcina, PM (send a personal message) to Buck Satan, the site owner. He's no rubbber stamper, so you'll get a fair hearing.
