About oblivion gates... (kind of spoiler)

Post by Virus »

Hello everyone! I just registered to the forum but I've played Oblivion quite some time (a month and a half or so).

I have explored about 155 new areas and 17 of them are oblivion gates...
Well... does anyone know how many of them are in whole Cyrodiil, from any official source or otherwise? Cause to tell you the truth they are kind of boring sometimes especially when the planes repeat themselves (I've done the ''natural disaster towers'' 3 times thus far  ).

I appreciate your attention and any answers given! :)
Hope is the first step to the road of disappointment..

There's no fixed amount of Gates, I think they even respawn after you close them ... apart from the MQ, the point as I see it is to get ingridients, great loot, sigils, and of course experience.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Now you wrecked me :( Anyway this oblivion-gates-stuff is only for random exploring or/and part of the main quest? No detailed descriptions plz because I haven't even touched the main quest :D

Yes, pretty much. Don't worry no spoilers but you should read this in order to make sure your game runs ok - highlight to read - do not close the gate at Kvatch before you start the MQ or it could get messed up.

As you go up with your lvls I think you'll see the loot becoming much better there, it'll be worth the repetition of some things.

I've already done that and nothing strange happened BUT for those that may encounter a problem read this: When you are off to find Martin when you have already closed the gate of Kvatch DON'T speak to any villager about Martin, just
head straight to Martin himself as the marker indicates.
