How do i play with a 360 controller?

All I want to do is play this game. but it has been one nightmare after another getting it to work. I bought a 360 controller just to play this game. I am not a PC gamer but I cannot aford a 360 right now. can someone please tell me how to get it so I can play on my PC with the 360 controller. I hate using the keyboard and mouse.

I've never done it, but I've heard once you hook up the controller you need to go to Windows Update and download the drivers for it unless you bought the version that actually says it's Windows compatable, and in that case it should come with the drivers for you to install.

I have the driver installed already my computer recognizes the controller but the game wont let me use it

You had to enable it in options for Morrowind. I imagine you have to here to (it may be labeled joystick)
