Restoring drained attributes

Post by Frodo1 »

I recently started a rogue type character and focused strictly on the Dark Brotherhood quests. I had both my endurance and personality drained in a fight and went to a chapel to restore them. Just like the load screen sometimes says, I was told I was too wicked to be healed. I have to repent. I had a small bounty of 40 gold on me, which I took care of, and then I dropped all my stolen goods. I went back and still couldn't get healed. My infamy is 10, my fame is 1.

So, with my alchemy skill above 50, I created potions to restore my lost attributes. I found that the potions would only work for 15 seconds though and that didn't even happen. They didn't work at all. And yes, the potions were restore on self types.

Any suggestions?

As you can sometimes read in the loading screen tips, temple services are not available for people with a high Infamy rating. If the cause of the attribute drain is a disease (check this in the Active Effects screen) you can simply use a Cure Disease potion to restore them. If neither cure disease nor restore attribute potions work, the only option you have is acquiring enough Fame points so that your fame is higher than your infamy. The quickest way to do this is probably the Main Quest (you can earn up to seven fame points in a single quest). Getting access to the Arcane University also nets you 6 points.

I have always been able to restore drained abilities by using potions or spells - the "only works for a few seconds" bit means you go up that number of points per socond for the number of seconds listed.

I swewar this works - I can have an ability that shows in read as drained, and all I have to do is cast the proper restore spell to get my ability back to the proper level.

Am I missing something here?
