Oblivion was in many ways dissapointing compared to its predecessor, much due to the few guilds and missions and that the rpg-atmosphere that morrowind had is far to absent here in cyrrodil. The land also seems much less interesting to explore and in addition, the game is far to easy.
However, the one thing that has irritated me the most is the fact that the dungeons never contains good loot.
Thus, my question is therefore as follows; where are the great hidden treasures that we used the majority of our time in morrowind searching for? Can someone pinpoint any locations? And when reffering to treasures i mean those on the same level of umbra or the epic artifacts the daedra lords so willingly grant you.
Loot? <Spoilers>
Loot?

Actually, the dungeons *do* contain good loot. It's just as Bethsoft has been repeatedly saying: loot is now leveled. If you want to get a really good item, you have to be of a pretty high level to trigger its appearance. There are ways around this, most notably through mods that "descale" loot. A good example is G's Oblivion LOOT mod, which comes in 2 versions: scaled (but still more generous than Bethsoft's default setting) and unscaled.
As far as difficulty is concerned, I'm curious: did you find it easy on the default difficulty setting, to beat all the stuff thrown at you in the portals? And what level was your character, if you did so? Brcause there have been issues raised by players concerning the extreme easiness for very low characters in many (but not all) situations. Thus far, I've seen nobody who can take a level 1-10 character and defeat a series of Dremora Valkynaz, however. What about you?

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Lvl 32, Warrior/Warlock and i have rarely set the difficulty below my standard of above normal difficulty. I have yet to aquire any items of epic proportions though. I also scoured the construction set for unique items and the results were rather poor.

Well, normal loot depends on your lvl.
Spoiler below about some loot:
At lvl 32, you should be getting the best...Daedric and stuff like that.
Unique weapons and items are many times included as a quest reward.
Try doing some of the Daedric shrine quest. And you should be getting some unique weapons and other stuff there.

Excluding two of the daedric shrines, i have completed every request the daedra has offered me. It is as you say that i always receive dadric loot, they are however never usuually enchanted. The normal ones are merely merchandise i sell for profit, not keepers so to say. What i desire is unique artifacts found in the deepest, most secretive dungeons, much like the ones we witnessed in morrowind.
Currently, i am searching for the means to unlock a special door in a ruin which according to the book of "the last ayleid king" should contain some interesting finds. Any suggestions regarding this dungeon or any others?

That smells awfully like a quest especially when I think of - those statues I am now collecting for that guy in the Imp City - so maybe you can't get in yet.
Anyways, I am actually not pleased with the loot at all. Don't get me wrong, I have gotten some nice things, but that's just leveled loot. Not counting quest items, I am yet to stumble onto anything *unique*. I am aware of the problems of static placements, but I also think they went too far in this game with this random business. It should be a golden middle. I am not getting the feel of MW when I go into a ruin/fort/cave and search every nook and cranny and then just there I actually find something and you feel great! I am actually loosing interest as time progresses because ruins/forts seem too generic and the feeling is off. Of course I'll do it all, that's how I like to play, but indeed the feeling I had for MW is not there ... so far.
As for leveling ... honestly I am not sure what to think. I do not want to use mods this first time round on purpose, just want to play it as they made it. I am using the default difficulty setting, and am not lowering the slider ... it is relatively easy to go through mobs. I am rather good with my blade/block/destruction by now, and sneak is decent that I can go through anything. The game answers to my lvling by piling monsters at me. It can get messy at the Obl but nothing I can't handle. I had a much tougher time doing Kvatch at around lvl 10 than this right now. I am not using chameleon and invisibility at all, because then it would just be ridiculous. Sometimes it already is - I use a flame ball on a guy who keeps burning and he answers - it must have been the wind.

And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.
Hey I agree with you there just isnt the unique artifacts that were in MW. I got all excited about the helm of Oren Bearclaw but it turned out to not be all that great. I am not sure I like this leveling thing. I kinda miss having to guess if I was gonna be completly outclassed as I entered a cave. I liked that in MW you enter a cave and dont know if I even stand a fighting chancde of walking out. so far I have run into only one inncedent that was even close and that was in the beginning I went to a ruin and ran into a ghost and didnt have enchantments or silver. I had to run away. I want to find some really great unique Stuff like Umbra or the dragonbone Breatplate. If you happen to find anything worth while please let me know cause I am kinda tired of getting the same old crap.
I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other gods you will understand why I dismiss yours.
