How to catch souls?

Hi,

I am a newbie around here and like to ask sth. In order to recharge my magical weapons/staff, I use soul gems. I use ready soul gems. But I heard that I can fulfill them by myself also. How can I do it? Is there a spell to do it? Do I have to find empty soul gems and kill creatures with them?? I have no idea..Pls help!!

there is a spell called 'soul trap' which you cast just before you kill something (the lower level version is a touch spell so you have to be standing next to them).
-The creature will flash purple telling you you have successfully hit then you will have a set amount of time in which to kill the monster.
-Different monsters give diferent sized souls, eg a rat gives 'petty' but a minotaur lard gives 'grand'.
-Whatever you get will fill the smallest available empty sould gem in you inventory (so if you only have an empt grand soul gem then it is a ,massive waste to capture anything les than a greater soul)

Soul capture spell

OK I know how to capture a soul but where do you get the soul capture spell? Can it be bought, etc? P.S. I am a member of the mages guild ... Thanks
