Well, guess what my problem is now? It's the oblivion CD, and I've tried countless ways to fix this.

But the error I'm getting when installing is Cyclical Redundancy Check. Now, first off, if you know what that is, don't accuse me of piracy. I can take a snapshot of my disc if need be to prove you that I own Oblivion. Like I said, that was for people who know what CRC is.

I tried several things, removing star force from my machine, rebooting, deleting every possible oblivion file on my PC, Copying the entire CD to my hard drive, etc.

Anybody got any soloutions?

^erm...goodbye?

With new game CDs, if you are going to copy it onto the hard drive, you can't just copy the files, you have to make a CD image. I can't tell you any more than that, or I'll end up the same as the person above.

There are legal downloading services like Direct2Drive, where you pay before downloading the game...

@Siberys, does the error always occur at the same point of the installation?
It'd probably be best to send the CD back and get a replacement, sometimes you can just get unlucky and purchase a bad CD that looks fine from the outside. :(

I'd send it back and get a replacement anyhow. If you wait, and you have to redo something 5 months down the road and it does not work, you'll be pissed when they reject you for taking too long, you know?
