Creature Respawn

Post by ashtaroth »

As we advance in ranks, skills and level we must also face the fact that this might come to a sudden end as it seems that there might be a limited amount of foes in Cyrodill. And thus, my question is as follows, does creature ever respawn after their death? Does this apply to the majority of the creatures of Cyrodill or are such occurences limited to only a few areas?
Player: "Elves have strange powers."
Sten: "Being easily conquered does not constitute a 'power'."

Definitely. I cleaned out one mine occupied by leveled creatures (for my 3rd level PC, imps and wolves), came back a few days later, and a couple of imps showed up. But this depends on the area. I don't think (from what I can tell) that main plot dungeons will repopulate.

Random encounters will always be there, and you will always face creatures that are appropriate to your level in them. This held true for MW, and it holds true for Oblivion.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Quest dungeons respawn if you visited them before you got the quest.

And I'm pretty sure non-quest dungeons do too, eventually. I know for certain that Vilvarin does (that's the Ayleid place opposite the exit to the Sewer you first emerge from). And it doesn't take that long, either.
