Should I keep carrying the little stone idolon heads and handfuls of gems around ie are they useful or needed?

The stone heads or idolon are items to use after you come out of the dungeons into the Speculum Grounds where you exchange for goodies. Sell all the jewels you can as they only clog up your inventory. I always wonder why this game gives you so much money and you can hardly spend it!!

you get better rings if you wait until after you clear out the elven catacombs before you trade in the idolons.
