I don't know if it's part of growing up, but my dad's getting really annoying and stupid. :p

Hahahaha   Fair enough.

It is part of growing up: all parents start becoming unbearably annoying around 8th grade and it only gets worse until you leave. Then the annoyance level begins to drop.
I'm not sure if detentions exist in Norway. I've never had one at any rate. :p
*shrugs* I think it's decided by schools individually, one way of punishing schoolchildren, I think I got two in five years, which was good compared to a lot of people. :p
I think it was just where they kept you in a room after everyone had gone home for 20 or 30 minutes, or you'd miss a break, that sort of thing.

I don't know really, it's just one of those things about growing up. I used to feel bad (and still do) because I knew I was being mean to my dad at times when he wasn't doing anything deserving such treatment, but I couldn't help it: he was just so annoying. Why do kids feel depressed for no reason when they're teenagers? They say it's hormones or whateverm but it just happens. *shrug*

It's that, or his mid-life crisis... My Dad can be really annoying, especially when he thinks he is funny...

The bit in bold, that's how I feel.

I guess you're right, it's just the way it is. :p *sigh*

I've never had one, which is odd, considering my habit of laughing at teachers... My physics teacher laughed when I said 'Social chit-chat is condusive to our learning'. We still don't know if he got that he says 'social chit-chat' too much...

*shrugs* I think I got one when I didn't finish some homework in time, I can't remember why I got the other one, probably a similar reason.
Some of the teachers would give out lots more than others, that's for sure. I remember having an unpredicatble Maths teacher who gave detentions to virtually everyone with late homeworks, I had a note with a reason for it being late, though I was still suprised I didn't get a detention for it.

Yeah, it's like that with any positive award system...

Some teachers give more than others...

And kids who are bad all the time get more when they are good than anyone else...

When my dad used to do that I'd just feel bad for him and give him a sympathy laugh. I always made sure to not shoot his jokes down no matter how bad they were, just because I know how that feels :( . I made up for it in other ways though... :(
