Now i have read the NWN website and all the stuff on it.
But to me it seems to be just another version of Ultima online, which i haven't played.
I think paying 10 bucks a month to play the game is a waste of my money.
But i am still confused on how NWN works.
You have a game BG style where you have to achieve the quest objective.
But then you can build a game from scratch right??
But for this you need to know guys or gals over the net.
Also will you be able to keep all the items you gain in a quest and will this be per person or for everybody?
Like if i get the gauntlets of dex can some one else get them, or would they have to kill me to get the item??
For someone who last played the pen and paper game in 1990.
And got BG1 in 2000, the stuff is extremely confusing.
So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to however moved this thread.
Now can anybody help me out??
Also i did a bit of surfering, and am even more confused.
You play your character which is part of a guild to see whats up with the plague and stuff.
So is it a single player game or team orientated as in you can pick up NPC's.
Is the mulitplayer game different from the single player game as does it give you a wider region to cover and play in?

I'll try to clarify a few points:
NWN is based on the 3rd Edition of D&D rules and takes place in the Forgotten Realms (like BG serie).
Unlike the BG games, you control on ly one character and the interface is totally different.
The game can be played in single player or multi player mode. One very interesting feature is the ability to DM a game in real time.
You can store your multiplayer character in the "Vault". This way, it'll be protected and DMs can be sure that the character isn't hacked or that the player hasn't cheated.
The game ships with a tool set that lets you build your own adventures (NPCs, dialog, monster, encounters, wepaons, items, etc..).
Sorry its getting late here and its all I can think of. Watch some of the trailer and you'll get a much better idea.

Helm sees all. Do not offend him in intent or in deed!
Hey thanks alot.
So basically this is a guild orientated game.
You join a guild and they create games like in pnp via the DM.
And during those games you gain experience and stuff.
Does that fairly limit the games you can play, as i know no one over the net willing to play with me.
So you have to join a guild or something?
Also can you play against other guilds like ultima now with the 4 guilds.

Guilds are either being formed at this time or will be at the time of the game release.
NWN is free, unlike UO were you have to pay to play.
You can play with me, since I want to play the game in multiplayer.
Wait some time, when its near to be done, this forum will became more active and I am sure that many will make their own guilds (I am even considering of making the entire city of Waterdeep but I have to wait if I can make it or have to join with someone for that)

I will have to first look at the game engine to see if its possible (Waterdeep is so big that it have a game box to descrive it, I own one of those boxes and since it have a map of waterdeep I think I can build a somewhat exact waterdeep) to make such a huge game area.
It will also my first real try at something really dificult since I dont have any experiance on this matter.
My hope is that the world builder tools are easy to understand and use but I will probley need some help.
Neverwinter nights is still a long way from release (winter of 2001 is the most optimistic shoot at a date) and its still soon to me to actually start on the project (I only own the box, I will need to build the city areas, create the NPCs, build the quests, assemble the items, make a run to see if everthing works and make fixes if something is wrong).
I hope that I am up to it.
Also I am not in NWN forum because Interplay boards are hosting it and Interplay boards are very slow to load and not easy to navigate (UBB is better and faster) so I dont have a pre-release knowlage of NWN.
But I will give it a try and if I fail someone that is also giving a shoot at it can talk to and I will do my best to help him.
If everthing works well, I will try other areas (like Icewind dale and Silvermoon area)
