To be honest, I think everyone on this forum would recommend getting Morrowind...

However, I would recommend getting it for the PC, rather than the Xbox, due to the wide range of mods available...

I have to say that MW is one of the best games I have, and is the one I have played for the longest...

The game is really not all too similar to any of the RPGs you listed (though I haven't played Fable). But I guess of all of them Gothic would be the closest one.

No 2, DF is still my favorite, but I would also suggest getting MW, and for the PC. If nothing else, when something goes wrong it is easier to fix. Excellent game, but be ready for hours and hours of play, and when you add the mods, well ... it is very addicting and huge.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Yes, I would definitely recommend getting Morrowind!

As others have said, though, it is far better to get it for PC. I don't think I would have spent as long playing the game were I using an Xbox. The wide range of player-made mods you can install, many of which are better than the original game, are what make Morrowind worthwhile.
And, if you do something to mess up (easy to do because Morrowind allows so much freedom), the console you can access with the PC version, makes it easy to fix many problems
Make sure your graphics card is up to snuff though. I could barely run the game until I replaced my card on this aging computer. Equally, you should have at least close to 512 mg of RAM, and ideally more.

Oh, and welcome to Game Banshee Morrowind forum! :)

Reply to Dragon Wench. I got it on Xbox years ago and I'm still playing. You can't stop playing morrowind whatever you're on. It's just BETTER on the PC.

No, not many at all, that I have run across, on PC or Xbox.

I really do reccommend getting it, but I would make sure its the Game Of The Year edition that comes with both expansions. :D

@ DW; mine runs greatly smooth on medium high settings with my straight out of the box Dell with 256 MG RAM. I think the card is decent in it though. . . :D

Doesnt matter, as I get my dream rig back when I find the recovery disc tommorow. :D :D

Get it on PC and any bugs can be cured by patches and plugins.

No, nothing like that, don't worry. Plus even if you mess up you can use the console (on the PC) to get yourself out of hot water, something most players have used at one time or another, plus people here know a *lot* about MW and can always help you out through problems. Go for it, you'll like it :)
