I've heard 2 prominent members suggest this in a previous thread, so I had to ask.
1) What's the latest version, and how compatible is it with Windows XP?
2) There haven't been any compatibility problems with other legal software, right? The last thing I want to do is download this and suddenly create a can of worms.
If I could play old DOS games like 'Colonization', 'Master of Magic' or 'X-COM: UFO Defense' again, I'd likely be in heaven. As much as MoM may be at least rumored to be getting a remastering or some-such, I'd rather not push my luck and find out it won't happen.

Dungeon Crawl Inc.: It's the most fun you can have without 3 midgets and a whip! Character stats made by your's truly!
I'm not sure what the numbered version is, but in effect it looks like the Command Prompt in Windows but provides the extra facilities required by older games.
Completely compatible with Windows XP, CD-ROM drives and the like. I've played Colonization on it quite regularly among other games (Lotus: Ultimate Challenge, Transport Tycoon Deluxe etc).
Some of the newer DOS games may not work as well with it though, but the majority of them should work.

Certainly, it's completely legal, as it is simply another method for running them.
Check out here, where it has a whole list of the games that are known to work (there are certainly more, but the list is quite long).
I strongly suggest getting it, it's small, but worth it.

I use firefox, and it's working for me. Here is the main site, so just test that, if it works, go to the Games link, and it'll bring up my previous link. If this doesn't work, try internet explorer (I don't use it either, but sometimes, you have to).
