So, I presume you contacted Belkin, then?
You have a Compaq laptop, a Packard Bell PC (which I think is now HP). Wow, I don't envy that, I can't stand either company. HP makes pronters that are too smart for their own good and both companies overchage their parts...
Well, I hope you can get it fixed and now I'll be going...

@ Rav. *shrugs* I knew nothing about it and I have what the purveyors of gibberish told me to get. I am a trusting soul
Tried your thing about windows components but it isn't there either. I do have about 10 things in the add and remove programmes bit all called " Windows XP Hotfix (SP) [see Q *different number each time* for more information. It doesn't let you do anything with them. Could that have anything to do with it?

Evening Fiona.
That sucks. But for us, we have a had a couple of fights with our computers too... and accidently lost data.
There are a couple of programs out there, such as this, which is designed to recover lost data. This could work (though sometimes the stuff recovered is corrupted, it can regain some stuff.
This isn't the exact tool I used last time, but there should be some info on the net, and if you wanted to, might be able to get it working...

In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.

Yeah, that was my thoughts, it seems as if once you clear one problem, you're in another one.
Maybe the Amish were right...
.
I'm alright, we lost cricket, so that's a bit of a bugger
.
What about you, besides the plethora of computer problems.

I thought cricket always ended in a draw
I'm good apart from that. On call last night and today so I'm stuck at home. Shame really because once again the weather is gorgeous and this is not usual. I would really like to go and see if the geese are leaving early because they think it is spring or if they go by something else like day length. Maybe tomorrow, if it is still nice.

Looks like you aren't the only one with computer problems, mine just flipped out for no reason. A quick reboot fixed it though
.
Well I hope you get to see the geese tomorrow then.
Oh, that's not good. Missing as in ran away... or worse?
Scrap that, it's probably not my business.

Oh, okay. Well as long as they get back that's alright.
Oh, fair enough then. Well it's reassuring to hear most get home.
It's 7:12 here, and I'm guessing it is about 9:12 there?
No plans tonight... I don't really go out that often at night and stuff... mainly because I'm a touch young...

7:12 pm on Saturday? You are 10 hours ahead of us? I will try to remember that but it is a number so it is unlikely
.
The crucial question is when can you drink in Australia? That seems to be when it all changes. Well it is in Scotland, though I realise we have a somewhat limited approach to social life

I find the easiest thing to do is double click the time at the bottom, and go to the timezones tab. There you can look at the cities and see where it would change.
Though being where you are, I just guessed it would be +-0.
It's 18... so that's another 3 years yet. Made worse by having a birthday in December.
And Australia is the same, drinking is a major part (perhaps too much, we have a large problem with youth binge drinking
).
