wireless internet problem

Post by Grimar »

i got a problem with my internet. sometimes it just doesnt work. i am connected to the internet, but i cant open any web-pages, use msn etc. it's not my internet btw, it's my neighboors.. i think.... anyway, i am connected to it

but anyone know what may be causing the problem?

oh, and one thing, i just checked. when i try to open a page, and my internet dont work. right before i get the "page not found" screen, a little message pops up on the "loading bar" (the one at the bottom of the screen), and it say something like "C:\programfiles\windows\dnserror and a lot of numbers.

what can be causing that? and its not my wireless internett card, since internet work everywhere else.
I once had a little teaparty, this afternoon at three, twas was very small, three guests in all; I, myself, and me. myself ate up the sandwhiches, while i drank up the tea. twas also i that ate the pie,and passed the cake to me :D

I take it you are using a D-Link? What sort of device are you using if you are not?

My D-link I originally had problems with simply because the wires were not correctly attatched to the main piece of hardware attacthed to another computer. Without that for the D-Link, I can't access the internet through this computer. Now, any problem I get is because I try to turn it on to early, or I just take the card out and I reinsert it, and it works perfectly.

If it attatches to your USB port (mine does) then it may be your using a defective port, or, if it is on the front of the computer, it might not work properly (I remember reading about some computer's where those front ports don't all work right), and you should move it to one on the back.

Make sure that there is no metal and not much wood between the hub or source for the card to pick up the signals correctly.
