OK folks, later Today I get a new Forgotten Realms Tattoo.
I am going for the one of the following, so lets make this a poll if we can
1)Heart of Winter Dragon Heart Ruin on my heart-chest.
2)IceWind Dale Tree Ruin on my upper back and neck.
3)Tales of the Sword Coast Wood-grain sailing ship on my lower back
4)Thone of Bhaal Skull with Three Deamonic Fingers on a Parchment for my other upper arm.

Later I will get the plane scape torment Lady Of Pain symbol I think on my leg to cover up a birth mark.

YOUR OFFICIAL UPDATE now I hope I get a date

I went with, Drums roll please SYMian..........................

4)Thone of Bhaal Skull with Four Deamonic Fingers on a Parchment for my other upper arm. On my Left arm and the old Baldur's Gate one tate was formally on my right. I touched up My Baldur's Gate 2 Two elvin celtic disk on my Belly Button. That Hurt So BAD (CRY's thinking about it, wimper),.
But it is done now, so I am a canvas with some detail now.
Thank you for listening to my pallet at pain and pleasure but I will bump this thread in a couple of weeks to add yet another piece to the Fleshly Parchment.
Another link to By Me, PATRICK
Egads, I thought he was kidding up until this post. They are rather well done, though I'd never hire you or let you date my daughter (if I had one.)

and btw.. whats the problem with Forgotten realms tattoos?
it's the same as any other fantasy tattoo (a dragon etc). and those are very popular...!
I once had a little teaparty, this afternoon at three, twas was very small, three guests in all; I, myself, and me. myself ate up the sandwhiches, while i drank up the tea. twas also i that ate the pie,and passed the cake to me :D

I dunno... I have two tattoos (upper thigh), and I don't think I would ever get a tattoo of anything having to do with a videogame or rpg. I made up the design of my tattoos, and I look at it and even to this day I love it. My tattoos are something that me and a bunch of my friends got- all fencers who had fought and bonded for years. The tattoos were something that kind of evolved over years. I guess I just feel like getting a tattoo of an rpg isn't something that expresses who you are as a person, but rather something you liked alot for a while.

(that's just my two cents :D )

I have to agree with Cuch. They look like someone did a decent job on them, but, how will you explain it to someone when they ask what made you get the tattoo? I have a friend who has started a collection of horror movie character tattoos on his body. His arms are covered, and he now has 2 on his of Iron Maiden as well. I believe he has close to 40 tattoos. He's not really going to ever be able to hook-up with a girl who isn't into horror movies now because of that.

@ Cuch, that's pretty cool you got something like that done with that group of guys. I've considered getting a certain someone's name tattooed on me, but I'm not sure how I'd react to a daily reminder of her. Not to mention, explaining it to the next girl I date that I got the tattoo done after the girl died. There is a tattoo artist whom I loaned money to a while ago who's offered to do a free one for me. Problem is, I hate needles, and I cannot think of anything worthwhile to go through the experience of dealing with that evil needle contraption. He's retiring soon too. :(

It actually is pretty cool. A group of us are thicker than the proverbial theives, and after a while someone just said, "Hey, we should go get a tattoo." About a year or two later, it finally happened. The key, for me at least, was that it happened organically.

Jeez Mag... that's a tough call. I am personally not a big fan of names in tattoos period. Then again, I think color is a bad idea 95% of the time too, so maybe I'm a little too conservative.

As for you and tattooing you-know-who's name on you... well, why would you? I know that I got my work done because a big part of me was due to that group of friends. So, I felt like all of us giving a little part of our skin would only make us tighter. Maybe if you feel like a part of you is due to her, you should get something done- is there anything other than a name that would work? How about a symbol, or maybe a particular item...

That sounds like a good way to get the value back! Be careful though- if ink is nothing else, it is addictive! Getting any work done is opening a floodgate!

And, btw, I hate needles too- I got over it. Just look away and think of it as a ball point pen rolling hard over a sunburn.

Nice, I haven't really had and kept friends for more than a few years, so I've never been in a situation like that. That is really cool that you all are close enough to do that. :D

There are definately a few symbols I could use, that's a very good idea. I've been considering getting one done on her birthday, which is rapidly approaching. I'd have to talk to Jeremy (the tattoo artist) about it. I discussed with him about getting one done wasted, but that was a tattoo that said "Bite me". He laughed and told me to go sober up, and if I still wanted to do it, he'd pay me for it. :o

I've been told everyone who gets one done wants more. I'm used to pain, that's not a problem. I get angry when I get hit with a needle though. I've chased off nurses who stuck me without informing me they were going to do so. I don't want to get halfway through the tattoo and realize I can't stand it anymore and will want to slug the artist.

Thats great Cuch, but I have a willingand submisive bind to the RPG [AK:Forgotten realms],. And I feel with what fans there are out there like us and others, I am bound to have a jolly good time in displaying them. And for true fans a lots chaten and a good laughs. As for the game's themself, I have spent hours in awe and enjoyment beyond that of most other things I appreciate in life.
Plenty of Brither then I think, some real and some not so real.
Its is good to have a body art pack with those who can I seance with you Cuch, like my Dad, he got Tattoo's of his Military regalia divisions.

So I will add another one fellow RPG enthusiast!!

I hear you Pat :D . Actually, you would be hard pressed to find someone who played 2nd Ed Forgotten Realms or BGII: SOA with greater abandon than I did. I was a teenager and I just latched onto D&D. At one point I could answer almost every 5 point trivia (the hardest level) question in that AD&D trivia game. Then, when BGII came out, it was a true revolution. It was as close to true RPG gaming as I could ever imagine, and all the loust things about 2nd ed (excessive dice rolling, redundant rules, incredibly complicated system, etc.) and made it accessible. It was, and remains, something incredible to me.

The big point is, as far as I'm concerned, that any tattoo is genuine. Whether that means inking up your belly-button with the SOA symbol, getting a military tattoo, or making up your own with friends it should be a piece of you. For me tattoos say something about you and your character, who you are... It's not like a tattoo will ever just 'go away' over time.
