shame on you for not having a fallout: tactics forum =P
anyway i was wondering if anyone knows how to change the custom music directory for FT. i really dont like having to copy my songs over (takes up too much space >_<) and i really dont want to move my whole music collection (around 13gig) to the normal custom mp3 folder.

I seem to remember seeing a Fallout: Tactics thread in the Fallout 2 forum. Not knowing much of the game, I'll move this there, and hopefully someone with far more knowledge on the subject can help you.

I don't recall the oppertiunity to set up your own "custom music path", but it has been a very long time ago since I've played the game.
What you could try to do is look in the various .ini files and see if you find any references to the "music" directory and alter that.
Otherwise, you'll have to copy some of the music collection into the directory (don't copy it all, just some and then alternate between it).

The simplest way is to just turn done the music ingame and run an mp3 player in the background. Although I do remember there being some problems with that in the past on my old computer, majorly since it was a slow computer I think though.

With quick digging I found out this from http://www.nma-fallout.com -forums.
Hopefully that helps at least a bit.
