Ok, I am in the warehouse trying to get to the crypt. I have killed the guy in the last room, but the electric field is still there. I can not pass through it. Does anyone know another way down or do I have to start all over again? I have already cleared the area and also the peninsula district.

Did you release the guard in that warehouse as well as kill the enemy in that room?
There is another way down to the next part though. Highlight the following for spoilers: There is another estate that can be accesed using a wardstone found with one of the people that Drake asks you to find. This should let you into the Estate in the North West of the Beggar's Nest. Clear that area out and you should be able to continue with the game.
