Need help killing some greater wolfweres. I'm in the Windspear Castle level three and I have run accross some greater wolfweres that I just can't kill. My characters do tremendous damage to them but they just regenerate too fast. I tried isolating one wolfwere against my four characters, Anomen with a warhamer +2; Korgan with a warax +3; Yoshimo with a Katana +2; and my main character a figher/mage with the Celestial fury, and it shows injured one minute and then voila uninjured the next. I have even tried using Anomen's finger of death on it and it just regenerates. This didn't happen the first time I played the game. Is there a bug? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Some people have said this is a bug, but i don't know...it's always been this way every time i play against the wolfweres. It's a challenge
It sounds like you have some pretty good firepower working there. It has been my strategy to do like you say, isolate one wolfwere at a time and concentrate everything you've got on it. I will usually bless and chant to improve the frequency of hits. STR potions would up the damage per hit. Haste would increase the number of chances to hit.
What level are your characters? Are you scoring a lot of hits each round? I've never had the patience to figure it out down to the point, but in my experience you have to do something like 100+ points of damage in ONE ROUND (i think thats 6 seconds) to kill one, otherwise they just regenerate.

A known bug, this is. Try lots of Magic Missiles.

have a mage memorize as many mordenkainen swords as possible, and some haste. Before opening the room cast 5 of them, and haste or improved haste them.
sic on them, and cast spells like low and other helpful combat spells. the problem with these buggers is the tight quarters. I like skeleton warriors for my tanks
but they get pretty chopped up in this area, because my fodder can only attack about 1-2 at a time. Skeleton warriors are great for every situatiion when they can surround the enemy and do slow motion food processor on the enemy. M swords are incredibly tough, and vicious hasted or improve hasted.
Oh and if you no have m swords...
send aerie in with ai off, sanctuary and blade barrior. hasted and with a cloudkill or fireball wand. full charged.
she can thin out their ranks with sact and blade barrior, enough so you've got a really good shot, then run out with haste leaving behind a cloudkill.

I had the same thing and it drove me mad, running about like a coward to try and lock the buggers in a room.
Anyway, I quitted, reloaded the game and next time it was fine, they went down like the rest. Got to be a bug.

yep i had the same problem my archer had fire rate fo 4 per round, decent for unbuffed, anway he fired at one greater wolfwere and it went down to injured then bag full again, so in the end i just hide in shadow and crawed by them then locked them in a small room some where, later in the game when i got my whirlwind attack they fell fast, i mean 10-20 damage a hit, 10 attack a round, so.... that's like 100+
bah bah, sig? Me? naaa.
