I'm not sure if my version of IWD is bugged or if the walkthrough to the game simply contains erroneous information. I've noticed that some of the magic weapons I've acquired during play don't seem to have the same specs/stat information compared to the descriptions of the weapons provided in the walkthough on GB.
SPOILER ALERT BELOW
Case in point: the Fire Dagger found in the Easthaven Caverns. According to the walkthrough, the Fire Dagger is a +2 weapon with a 50% chance of inflicting additional damage in the form of 1d6 fire damage.
However, my Fire Dagger is not +2 and has only a 5% chance of inflicting fire damage.
Are the stats on magic weapons randomized - analogous to the random location of certain loot in the game?

It has probably more to do with the fact that some of the magic items have been added/removed or changed from patch to patch....
I am quite sure that when I played Icewind Dale out of the box the first time when it came out, some of the items were different from the latest patch version.
