Bug... possibly caused by Tutu

Post by Aztaroth »

I was playing BG1 after installing Tutu, everything's working fine until I finally manage to kill Sarevok.

First I get a conversation window saying:

"Sarevok - has fallen! The battle is won!"

then something about my characters from the Final Save being exported. Then I end the dialouge, the game goes into cut-scene mode then... nothing. My characters (and Tazok, who hadn't died yet) just stood there, looking around. I can't do anything because of cut-scene mode, and apparently letting it wait a few hours doesn't help.

What the hell is going on?

On a side note, there seems to be another bug of some sort in Tutu. Might be a feature of Tutu, though I doubt it... whenever I memorize a scroll, I get 1 exp per level of the spell! Not 1000, as I'm sure it's supposed to be! Same with disarming traps, and opening locks doesn't give me any exp!

Please help >.<

I had a similar problem. I lured in Sarevok, just left the building before the game stopped me from leaving (I think the game stops you from exiting once the fight begins) and I attacked and killed Sarevok outside. Then I got that message and nothing happened. Entering the temple again would get me attacked by the remainder of Sarevok's allies but nothing else.
So I too would be interested if anyone has a solution. :)

Well the game ends when Sarevok dies so you can just turn off the game
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

Probably, yeah, but I'd like to see an epilogue if there is one... and besides, can you go into TotSC before killing Sarevok?

Yes, you can. You just need to enter Ulgoth's Beard. The game ends once Sarevok is dead regrdless of having TotSC installed or not.
And there's a video at the end of BGI. I've seen it from when I didn't have Tutu installed, but I would have preferred the ending to work correctly.

Yeah, definitely a Tutu issue. :) Can't help you, though. My game crashed every time someone in the final battle used magic.

If you just want to see the video, you could download Near Infinity. That allows you to view all the in-game videos. It's a file that you place in the BG directory that allows you to view the files used by the game.
It can be found here.
Place it in the folder where Baldur's Gate 1 is installed and then open the file. Check through the folders shown and one of them should have all the videos. :)

AFAIK there's no solution to this particular Tutu bug - yet. I hope they adress it in the future.

Try and check if the video is enabled on the Video menu. You know, that one you use on the main menu to watch the videos. You can also enable the endgame movie there, with a command but I cant really recall it (centuries since last time playing the first game) and watch it from the main screen.
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.

Yes they nerfed the xp gained from spell scribing. Otherwise, you would have ridiculously high level wizards very soon just by memorizing a lot of level 1 spells giving 1000 xp LOL.

As well the traps were nerfed for the same reason.

Correct. :) And about the final save, it's not been fixed yet but you can always choose to export your character before the final fight if you wanted to play with them in BG2.
