pixel shading

Post by shana »

I was hoping someone could help me find a download-able pixel shader. I have installed a game that requires it, and have the wrong Nvidia driver to support it. Is there a way to fix it, or do I need to buy a new driver, or do I need to return the game to the store???

Thanks!

Warning: Conceptual errors detected, require immediate correction

Pixel Shaders is a graphical technology with DirectX 8.1 or higher. It's mostly used to produce water reflection effects, and is supported only on the hardware level. That is, if your graphics card doesn't support it, no amount of software tweaking will help.

If your graphics card is a Geforce 3/Geforce 4 Ti (NOT MX) or above, then you can try downloading DirectX 9.0c and then upgrade to the newest drivers at Nvidia's website. Otherwise, your only option is to buy a new card.

Well....that's not the answer I was hoping for!!!!!!! Thanks anyway. Have any idea how much an Nvidia GeForce6 Series card costs? (I know I could look this up, but you seem very knowledgeable!)
