Migogon (Spoiler)

Post by Wingte »

Ok,, I did a search on this and found nothing. This means either I an very dense and can't see the obvious solution to killing it,,, or,, no one else plays a character that can test for entry into the guild.

How do I kill this thing??

Could you tell us what it is first? I'm not sure if we all know off of the top of our heads what Migogon is.
"Be thankful you're healthy."
"Be bitter you're not going to stay that way."
"Be glad you're even alive."
"Be furious you're going to die."
"Things could be much worse."
"They could be one hell of a lot better."

Sorry ,, Minogon

It is the automaton that the Sorceress in the tower sends you to kill after you have collected the clay, water, puff of fog, and kindling wood.

It just occured to me...

Is it the monster you have to kill in order to join the mage-type guild in Neverwinter (I can't remember the name)? In the basment of that tower?
If it is, you have to use the right combination of the 4 wands surrounding the antechamber to damage it (I don't know the combination off the top of my head). When you figure the pattern out it's an easy fight.

If this isn't the guy then I'm sorry I've wasted your time. :D

Oh ok then I think this is the guy I meant, you need to use the wands (see above).

I have tried every combination I can think of and so far nothing works.

The fire wand does 1 point of damage.

It is immune to the color spray wand.

the slow wand works but what good is that when nothing I have can touch it.

The stoneskin wand works on me but he can knock that down in two hits.

Huh, i don't know what the problem could be... maybe try coming back when your stronger? The wands worked for me, so I don;t know maybe it's a bug... Hopefully some other people here will contribute, because I never had a problem... You're sure that youhave tried all the different combinations? Summon a pet to absorb some damage while you try the wands, that may help.

As said by the quest giver, the order of the elementals is important, and now you know why :D
You need to use the wands in the order stated by the quest giver, I think it is even mentioned in the journal.
And reading from above, it seems you are doing it wrong, because you shouldn't use the wand on yourself - but target the creature.
Stoneskin on the creature - not on yourself.

So read the correct order, then stay alive long enough to use the 4 wands in that order on the creature, and then see if that doesn't kill it.
The effects are the correct one (1 fire damage, immue to color spray etc), because it isn't the damage from them which kills it.

I've not read any bugs connected with this "puzzle", but I guess it would be possible, but I think you are simply just useing the wands on yourself or in the wrong order.

(by the way: I've added a spoiler to your thread title, due to the giving out of - well - spoilers. Please remember this in the future :) )

Hmnnn. I discovered that I had to collect the items in the correct order or they wouldn't be accepted and thought that was what was meant by paying attention to the order.

Thanks

hmmm - I don't recall that I had to collect them in order, or even hand them in, in order. I did think I needed to my first time through the game though, but didn't do so in any of the latter games.
But I did have to use the wands in the correct order to kill the golem thingy.
