pyramids..............
Idea for a storyline
I’ve been interested in the story that is being written in this forum and thought I would start another one. One that has a different outlook although slightly similar. It takes place in modern times (but only for a while). A boy or ,several people, travel to the egyptian pyramids (why I’m not sure yet...vacation or something...I work on that later), while there something happens....a teleporting or some kind to the past or more probable an alternate reality of some kind.........something strangely magical.
If anyone is interested in helping me progress this idea, that just happened to pop into my head a couple of minutes ago, I would be thankful.
ps and in writing it..........

Seeing as I didn't say it in the first post, welcome to GB, jack.
You could either go down the fantasy route with something maybe similar to Lionheart or you could go to the sci-fi route with something like Stargate. There seems to be less sci-fi in this area, so that could be a good direction to take.
I can give greater descriptions of either if you haven't seen either Lionheart or Stargate.
There was a plot in Stargate SG-1 (that follows the Stargate film) including a 'Quantum Mirror' which would supposedly link to a different mirror in countless different realities. These would all have branched off at a certain point due to a different choice somewhere along the line. Anyway, you could come up with something pertaining to exploration/aiding other realities througha similar device.

Sure.
Know about Stargate, then?
Right, Lionheart is set back in the time of the Crusades when Richard I (English king) was fighting Saladin in the Holy Land. 1300's I think.
So, Richard captures a town and wants to blackmail Saladin. Saladin does not capitulate. One of Richard's advisors suggests suggests that the 2/300 prisoners are all killed.
Unbeknown to Richard this completes some kind of Ritual, which causes the 'Disjunction' an event releasing magic into the land of good and evil origin.
Richard and Saladin fight together and beat back the evil and close the portal where the magic is coming from, but too late to stop the magic already released.
Then the ordinary timeline is twisted, really. Powerful leaders combine with magic. Mongols attack and force their way to Italy which never recovers, crusades against evil Storm Dragons, that kind of thing.
So really, it's an alternate timeline kind of thing.

Personally, I think Season 8 of SG-1 was a bit of a let-down. Atlantis made a really good start though.
But something like a Stargate or a Quantum Mirror as seen in Season 1 and 3 may be a good idea. It's going to have lots of scope. It would be nice to have some sci-fi in the Fan Fiction section, though
