What would be the best order to finish the planets in?
Like KotOR 1 you should save Korriban for last because of Bastilla...
Anything like that here?
Or if you just have any personal preferences feel free to post...
Best order
It depends much more in Kotor II as to what you are playing: a male/female PC, DS/LS.
Spoilers, highlight to view:
Dantooine is the best source of lightsaber crystals early on in the game. For a female PC it gives you your easiest Jedi pupil, Disciple. If you don't mind a DS point, there are three possible lightsaber/ lightsaber part drops. And, the Ithorian at the landing pad has some quite good armour upgrades that you are highly unlikely to be able to make yourself at this stage.
Nar Shaddaa gives you the final Jedi pupil, Mira, if you are LS. It gives you HK-47. If you are DS, it gives you an additional two DS characters, Hanharr and G0-T0. The fight between Atton and the Twin Suns can be tricky early on if you don't cheat, lay mines or hide behind the bar.
Dxun will complete your party giving you Mandalore. You should also be able to complete a basic lightsaber quickly, before leaving for Onderron, and you should have another lightsaber before leaving Onderron. * EDIT * You can also get a decent DS crystal here in exchange for a Starport visa *. You also can't fight Kavar on your first meeting, which means that your first fight with a Jedi (assuming you are DS and want to fight them as you find them) will come much later and be a much easier fight.
Korriban is short and won't allow you to level up very much (unless of course you make use of the respawning Hississ in the tomb; difficult on your first planet). Also, as a first planet it is possible that you will be sufficiently LS/DS aligned to enter the tomb at all. There are insufficient lightsaber part drops to complete a saber here, I think, meaning that you would have to face Visas without one on your return to the Hawk. There are some reasonable DS artifacts in the tomb, but nothing worth going out of your way for.
[opinion] So that would be my order for LS. For DS/Female it would be Dxun, Dantooine, Nar Shaddaa, Korriban. For DS/Male, it would be Dxun, Nar Shaddaa, Dantooine, Korriban. Oh, and I would always delay my return to Dxun until just before the end game in order to field a full team of Jedi in the tomb of Freedon Nadd (sp) and to make sure that whatever items get dropped by the Sith here and on Onderron are as valuable as they can be.[/opinion]

LucasArts in interview with GameSpy, September 2004
"We were hoping we could bring the Xbox platform into December but didn't want to make the formal announcement until we knew an earlier ship date would not compromise the quality of The Sith Lords," says Producer Mike Gallo.
