NWN HoU Ch3 Long Death: possible bug? (Spoilers)

Post by philgo »

Hi. Having trouble getting past the needlessly hidden lever, after defeating the evil gang at Long Death. I can get past the pile of crates in the locked room by changing into a pixie with the Sensei amulet, but the polymorph becomes permanent and I can't pull the lever.

There doesn't seem to be any way of snapping out of the polymorph. In fact, if I change into any of the creatures more than twice, then I remain that creature forever. This happened the first time I played HoU, and I think the solution was to go back to the point where the amulet hasn't been used, so that I could then change into the pixie, fly through the hole in the crates, change back to normal, pull the lever, change back into the pixie, fly back through the hole, then change back to normal.

I have never encountered this problem. Once you polymorph into a creature, you should be able to right-click on yourself and get the unpolymorph option on the bottom of the radial menu. You need to polymoph into each of the three creatures at least once, so I don't see why it is restricting you to 2 uses. (Technically you don't NEED the wolf form, but it is the only way to get a certain cloak.)

Changing into the pixie form, as you describe, is the only way to exit this room.

I've added the Spoiler tag for you this time, but please remember it in the future.

Thanks

Bingo. The Cancel Polymorph did the trick. Hard to believe I could miss something so simple. The first couple of times you use the Sensei amulet the Cancel Polymorph is automatic, so it didn't occur to me that you could de-polymorph manually. Thanks for saving me the hassle of backtracking through a couple of tough battles.
