NWN servers...?

Post by Brynn »

When I connect to GameSpy, I see a list of servers under each cathegory (Action, Story, etc...). How do I know wheter if it's an official server or not (Apart form obvious cases like "Richard's world" and such)...?

I'm looking for a server that's always on and runs the original game and exps.

Well - unless "they" (Bioware) have changed hearts and intention - then you'll not find any "official" servers.
All servers are run by the fans, some more dedicated and skillfull then others.

 But this is crazy... :( You can't find a server that runs the original game... Well, I did find one yesterday, played approx. 15 mins with three other players until a fourth one came with a lvl 40 char and killed us all, and he kept doing the same whenever we logged back... That's real fun. So much for multiplaying...

Some people get their kicks from killing people in games. And it sucks. I don't feel the need to play on an original game server, since there is so many good servers to play on.

The one I currently play on, got a system. When someone kill another player of sheer fun all the paladins and Lawful goods will come down on him. And the other rules are so strict that the smalest breaking of rules would probably get the violators banned.

Try one of the "Dungeon" servers under the action category. I play on Dungeon X.

Be glad you don't play Diablo *shudder*

Usually most big PW's have full time DM's that will take care of such things. Most servers also have some countermeasure (be it vengeful NPC's or just a level cap).

Yeah, but they don't run the original game :( *sigh* (At least those I've found so far)

The Ascension thing is not that bad (is that an official module or what?), but every time I start the game I have to start it all over again... My char is taken back to the town, so if I have a quest to finish somewhere in the surroundings, I have to fight my way there each and every time I try to approach my destination...

@ Brynn : Did you find Dungeon X?

It isn't the orginal game, but I think it has been constructed better than the orginal :)

Yes! I didn't spend too much time on it, though, but I got to like it quickly. I only played once for a 15 mins, did the basic training, that was all, but it looks promising. Definitely better than the others I have tried so far!

I was looking for you so I yelled your name and someone next to me replied "Fiberwho???" lol :D
