9th level mage spell "shapechange" will do that. Its weapon is considered +3 and does good amount of damage (4D8 I think).

In true AD&D 2nd rule, the power of shapechange is much greater, because with this spell mage can transform into anything below the level of demi-god or ancient dragon and has almost all the abilities :)
Compare this to the one in BG2 where Iron Golem is vulnerable to normal weapon and Giant troll dies with normal weapon :(

4d10 plus Strength 24 bonuses. Good for Kensai/Mage; you can still use Kai in Golem shape.

Limited Wish has a one time wish that gives you Shapechange:
* I wish to be anything I desire. (Wisdom 6+): Shapechange.

For some reason I have gotten the impression, that the Shapechange you get from LWish is permanent (meaning thet the shapechange spell will never run out), can anybody say if this is true? (it would be cool it were).

Nope, it's wrong. But it lasts more time that a normal shapeshift.
