killing dragons...or not!
killing dragons...or not!
I'm currently doing the Umar Hills quest and am having problems with the dragon in the temple. Basically all my party (a fighter, jaheira, minsc, mazzy, valygar and yoshimo) keep getting well and truly minced without even laying a finger on the dragon. I seem to remember being slaughtered in a similar manner when i went after firkraag. Does anyone have any advice or tricks that i can use to get past dragons. I have the dragon stuff- i think its a halberd and shield- from the building where Firkraag was (sorry- can't remember its name) and some other dragon orientated stuff but it doesn't seem to be doing much!

Dragons are VERY hard.
I dont know or party menbers levels so I can tell you a statagie to kill them. You dont have to kill a single dragon in the game but the black is dificult to trick.
I sugest you go to the [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/strategies/dragons.php"]http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/strategies/dragons.php[/url] its the gamebanshee stratagie guide to defeat dragons.even if it dont work for you,you will get a ideia how to kill one.
By the way you need a mage and a cleric.

yea the shadow dragon is a pretty nastly mofo, the way i beat him was like this, get all your magic guys toghethor over to the left side alcove type place and summon all the creatures you can, than haste all your guys (if you can) than get protection from magic on your main fighters (as the shadow dragon likes magic alot) than get your creatures to attack the dragon, than get your fighters and attack him, than have your casters cast all their defensive spells on him, he tends to have pretective spells up, so cast breatch or pierce magic on him, than just cast and hack and stab till hes dead...if that dont work grab a copy of shadow keeper and give your party members godly stats =]
