Hello everyone! My husband has just gone out to buy me KOTOR2, and should be home fairly shortly. I have had a brief look at the KOTOR2 page here, (brief so as not to spoil the game too much) but I was wondering if anyone had any tips for someone who has not played the game yet...Also, it's on the Xbox, if that makes some kind of difference. The only reason I'm asking is because for KOTOR1, I relied heavily on a walkthrough printed in a gaming mag, and I'm afraid I might run into trouble without one, but I don't want to "cheat" until I absolutely have to...does it start out really tough? Thanks for any help!

If you've played KotOR 1 then you shouldn't have too much trouble. This game has a lot more bugs in it, though, so it can be a bit more frustrating. Sometimes puzzle solving/pathfinding can be a little frustrating. The answers are actually not hard to find, but sometimes they're so mundane that it takes you forever to think of looking in the right spot.
I ran into a game stopping bug on one of planets in my second game. Which was very upsetting since by that time I'd already put about 20hrs into it. But I won't tell you unless ask because WOULD involve some spoilers. All I'll say is beware Nar Shadaa.
All in all, though, the gameplay is really good and I think you'll like all the little extras that they put in.
One tip that's not a spoiler, though. I share xbox time with a roommate and the first time I went to load my character after he'd started his character I almost panicked because I didn't see my save slots on the load screen. So if you're not the only one with a character you have to hit the "X" button to change characters on the load screen if you don't see yours. I'm sure you'd have figured it out on your own, but even brief panic sucks.

Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and
flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore;
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed
he;................................
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

I don't have the game for very long myself, but I'll share some things I've noticed. No real spoilers here.
Most notably the importance of skills that were rarely useful in part 1, have more use here. I'm talking about Demolitions, and Security here. Security is now much more often used since a lot more objects are locked, and if you bash a locker, some things in it might get damaged and be unusable (for nothing else but creating other items then). Demolitions is now also used to blow up doors and lockers that you cannot open with security nor with bashing.
Another notable thing is that the implant feats have been removed, and replaced by constitution. Yes, you now have to pay points into that.
And yet another thing is gaining influence with party members. You may have had little trouble going light side in part 1, but now going light side might also lose influence with party members. So you'll have to make hard choices: either gaining light side points and losing influence or gaining dark side points and gaining influence. This might also be reversed sometimes for 'good' characters.
Well, that's all I can think of for now. Oh and be sure to read through the descriptions of all new feats. Some might be more useful and make 'good' feats in part 1 less good or 'useless' feats more useful.
