"Unable to Initiate Dialogue"

Post by Diomedes »

I've experienced a strange occurrence in SoA. I just installed ToB and started the entire adventure again. Upon loading a game (I'm still in Chapter 1), there are many NPC's with whom I cannot speak; it tells me that they all appear busy. This didn't bother me until I realized I wasn't even able to speak with the owner of the Adventurer's Mart to purchase equipment. I receive the error "Unable to initiate dialogue; Bartaman appears busy". This happens with a LOT of the characters. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, what did you do to fix it?

Thanks,
Diomedes

If you are using W2000 with SP2 that is a know (and now fix) bug.

Download ToB beta patch that fix that.
- Waterdeep city constrution.

- Shadowdale low level adventure module.

- Rashmare /Thay high level adventure module.

Thanks all! I'm downloading beta patch right now, and hopefully that will fix it. With luck, my save will be fixed, but if not, then I'll only have to redo the Prologue :)

Oddly enough, I've re-started the game like 4 times without winning it. I got all the way to Suldanessalar and decided I didn't like my party, so I started over... am I a deviant?

Not really, I restart the game about 10 times in about reaching Naskel in BG I since I decided that I did not like the character name or stats.
Even now, I am still trying to get a better name for my character...
- Waterdeep city constrution.

- Shadowdale low level adventure module.

- Rashmare /Thay high level adventure module.
