ToB: Bugs, bugs, bugs...is someone collecting them? SPOILERS

Post by C Elegans »

So far in the game (I've just done Abazigal and the 4th room in the Pocket plane) I have encountered more bugs in ToB than ever in SoA. I have the official Beta patch, nothing more. I have had Baldurdash patch installed, but never used it for the SoA savegame I imported to ToB, and I unistalled the Baldurdash patch before installing ToB. I play in multiplayer mode.

Now, here are the bugs, has anyone else experienced the same problems?

1. All PNPC:s I have tested so far, has only half the number of attacks of what is in the stats profile. No of proficiencies, class, level or weapon alike. The only exception in Korgan, he has all his 4 attacks/round.

2. I picked up a Halberd +2 from some standard monster (in the Oasis I think), and the shops says it's fenced. It's not, I've never stolen anyting in either SoA or ToB.

3. Game crashed frequently when I enter new areas, especially if I haven't been there recently so it's not in the cache.

4. Slow down bug

5. When my sorcerer cast time stop, time is passing for the rest of the party, and time limited effects like special abilities or spells, often wears off. Is this a bug or a new feature?
Also, spell casting, potion drinking or other activities the other PNPC:s were in the progress of doing before the time stop, are sometimes cancelled and disappear as if they were used. Very annoying!

6. Every time I have Cespenar making an item, and part of that item is in the Bag of holding, that part is not used, so I end up having both the forged item, and the parts of it.

7. When I return to an area where I previously have summoned things in battle, and they were not unsummoned before I left, the summoned things are still there even if days have passed! Imagine my confusion when 4 Mordenkeinen's sword met me at the Temle after I'd fetched Yaga-shura's heart

8. Strangest bug so far: After beating Abazigal, being transported to PP for some angel talk, I was returned to the site of battle, and met by 3 copies each of my sorcerer's and Imoen's simulacra  and all asked if they should leave the party or not, just as when you choose "remove party member"! Confused, I first included one of them in the party (I didn't understand it was a simulacrum until I saw I suddenly had 2 sorcerers) and when I removed the 2nd one, the Protagonist got the quest items he had in his inventory. Not only did that duplicate these items, they also got permanently stuck in the prot's inventory. It's impossible to remove them or use them. I had to fix it with SK.

Comments?

Whoa...I didn't have any of those...buuuut:

The Baatezu demon in Watcher's Keep always attacks me, no matter if I give him the heart or not, always with the same phrase, 2 seconds after his dialogue where he thanks me!?

He always attacks. He cetrays you. He is a demon of course, and an evil one at that. Just punch him in the ribs, and continues on your way.

Yeah, but he's supposed to be LAWFUL evil, thus should honor his word...also, his dialogue makes it sound as though I betrayed or attacked him...

I've experienced the slowdown bug and frequent game crashes on area transitions. I've also noticed that ToB has messed up Haste, which has far-reaching consequences since many items and several abilities (ie. Offensive Spin) reference Haste. See here for a more detailed explanation. And, in two run-throughs of the game, the Harper plot was broken.

There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I removed all of the registry keys (pre install ;) ) reffering to BG2, that seemed to leave me fairly unbugged (apart from the fenced goods one i got that one :( ), i did this originally because of Laserlok, but i think it might be a sensible idea for anyone with the Baldurdash and TeamBg alterations to remove them before adding ToB.

Let me throw this new one in.

After I kill the Elven Woodcutter (after unmasking him of course) I went in the house (to get the hammer's rune) and when I came out I just noticed that the gddamn portal to the enclave isnt open !

I can't finish the motherlovin game because of that ! And this is after I cleared out abazigal and co., yaga-shura and co., funky monkey and co. !!!!!!!!!! And the worst part is I have no previous save ! Gddamn !
Death comes for you .... FEEL IT'S ICY BREATH !

I just experienced this bug in the current game I'm running - a fire elemental that Jaheira had summoned in the Druid Grove was still there several days later.

If you find a bug (or several) send a note to Bioware so that they can make a fix for it.
