My computer had networking problems, so I took it to the shop. When I called them today, the technie said that I should replace my PSU, a 350W-max that came with the case. When I got there, he recommended me a 350W PSU by SPI, and I want to know whether it is a good choice.
Now I had been expecting this, but then the tech also showed me 8 blown capacitors on the motherboard. He said that if I want stability for my PC, I should replace both the PSU and the mobo.
I want to know if SPI is a good choice for PSUs, and whether I need to replace the motherboard.
My specs:
P4 2.4C
512MB DDR333
9800SE 256-bit 4-pipelines
Intel 865GBF motherboard
2x80GB 7200rpm ATA hard disks
1 combo drive
Old PSU: Cheap lousy 350W maximum that came with the case
Planned PSU: SPI 350W PSU

Cost for the PSU is $45 and $110 for a new mobo, not including labour. One year warranty for the new motherboard, not sure about PSU.
