Experience for trolls

Post by Maban »

I know this (or something similar) has probably been asked a hundreds of times, but i'll ask nevertheless. how come i only get 20 exp for every troll i kill in the east road chapter 2? how come i gain this little, when i got far more for weak goblins in the prelude?

Btw im a Sorc 8, Ranger 1 with Daelan Red Tiger as henchman, and i never summon my familiar. It has something to do with what lvl i am in right. Am i to high lvl, to low, or is it just the way game is designed?

hope someone can give me some kind of an explenation. Thx in advance! :D !

yeah, it's your level. In the prelude, you were around the same level as the weak goblins, thus giving you alot of experience. But now, since you are in Chap. 2, you are at a higher level. You don't get that much experience for killing things that are at a lower level than you, including trolls. I know it's kinda annoying, but that's how it is.
I wanted to change my sig, but I can't think of anything to change it to :(

Allright i see.

The most annoying thing though is that im having a very difficult time beating those trolls, when they come in numbers. I guess it is my character that sucks then. :p

Unfortunately, I found that magic-user-type characters suck up to a certain level, because they're physically weak and don't have many spells. But if you're patient...

At sorc 8 shouldn't he be flinging fireballs and lightning?

He should be summoning monsters. Those things are tough as nails and last FOREVER (more than 2hrs/level). My wizard 10 has no problem killing those trolls, it just costs him a level 5 slot.

bah humbug, a sorc w/ dual wield, weap finesse and a rapier + other finesse light weapon + cats grace & flame weapons (greater magic weapon & bulls strength is nice too but not required) can still do a respectable ammount of combat damage and they last for a long time - even solo a mage can clear a lot of areas w/o using their blaster type spells. for additional combat punch use weapons that already have some perks (keen, elemental damage ect)

Great, that's true. And not summoning anyone you earn more exp.
