just bought nwn,noticed on the strategy guide the quests for yr henchmen.
have got tomi with my character(lvl5 ranger),and found the official document which will get me a ring off tomi when i give it to him.
my prob is how do i give it to him?ive tried everything.is it a bug?
also how can i get him to use ranged weapons.ie bows?
im on chapter 1 and have no xpansion packs.
this newbie would appreciate any advice,

You need to talk to him. Then you can ask him to change his weapon (I think), and if you listen to his story (which he'll continue as he gains levels), then he'll eventually give you the quest to find the documents.
